Families should be aware of a class action settlement involving PowerSchool and its college and career platform, Naviance.

The lawsuit (Q.J. v. PowerSchool Holdings LLC) alleges that Naviance may have collected and shared certain student data with third-party analytics providers without proper consent between August 18, 2021 and January 23, 2026. PowerSchool denies these allegations but has agreed to a settlement to avoid continued litigation.

Who may be eligible

• Students who logged into Naviance at least once during the time period listed above.

What families need to do

• Review any notice you may have received for a Student Class Member ID
• Submit a claim by July 27, 2026
• Parents/guardians must file on behalf of students under age 18
